$3.1 Million General Fund Goal Rescinded
Friday, August 12, 2011 11:50:52 AM - Monroe Ohio

Monroe council discusses the recent special budget retreat and the budget itself.

City manager comes under fire by Councilman Steve Black for not following the direction council wants him to go in. If the city manager can't meet the budget goals, he should be fired according to Councilman Bob Kelley.

The proposal to make City Manager Brock keep the General Fund Balance at $3.1 million was rescinded due to the motion not allowing flexibility in reducing staff beyond attrition.

The city currently is projecting a $5 million reduction in the fund balance by 2014.
