On Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm your invited to a welcome reception for Monroe Jr/Sr High Schools new vocal music director Mark Jauss
Mark Jauss is in his second year as a graduate teaching assistant for the Department of Music and is pursuing a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting.
In addition to singing in the Chamber Singers, Collegiate Chorale, and Menís Chorale, Mark also currently teaches beginning keyboarding, will teach basic conducting in the spring, and is the assistant director of the Menís Chorale.
Mark recently graduated from Wright State with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education, having completed his student teaching at Kettering Fairmont High School under the direction of Brody McDonald. Mark is a member of professional organizations such as ACDA and MENC, and is an active member in the ACDA student chapter at Wright State. He was featured as tenor soloist for performances of Bachís Cantata No.23 with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and Collegiate Chorale under the direction of Neal Gittleman. Mark was also the first recipient of the Department of Musicís prestigious Collegiate Chorale Directorís Award for Choral Excellence in 2005..
