Mid Hospital and Anthem BC BS extend contract

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Middletown Regional Hospital reach a One Year Contract Extension

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Middletown Regional Hospital have agreed to an additional one-year contract extension, which gives Anthem members continuing access to this facility and its physicians through December 31, 2006. Middletown's current contract extension with Anthem would have expired on December 31, 2005. 

Anthem and Middletown Hospital are continuing to work together to provide access to quality healthcare to the people of Middletown and the surrounding region. Middletown Hospital will continue to participate in our Hospital Quality Program, which benefits members with improved outcomes of care.

This extended agreement demonstrates Anthem's and Middletown's continued commitment to work cooperatively and to meet our primary objective, which is to work to keep quality healthcare affordable for everyone.

This agreement allows Anthem members to continue to receive care at Middletown Regional Hospital without interruption.  And it affects all Anthem commercial plans -Blue Traditional, Blue Preferred, Blue Access and the Federal Employee Program (FEP).

We would like to extend a sincere "thank you" to you, the Middletown business community, and our many employer customers and members for their support, patience and understanding during this process.
