Monday, October 06, 2008 11:52:39 AM - Monroe Ohio
By: Tara Kunkle

Tyler Osterman is a freshman for Centre College, he is from Monroe, Ohio. He was put in to play after starter Grant Confliffe dislocated his shoulder on Centre’s third play of the game. Frye did not know if Concliffe would be back by the end of the season or not.

Osterman threw for two touchdowns and account 345 yards of offense to help Centre College to a 28-16 win over Sewanee. Tyler had not had much practice and for him to go in and do that well was very impressive for the coaches. And they are looking forward to what he can do for the team.

Osterman was 18 for 29 passing for 239 yards with no interceptions, and ran 24 times for 106 yards. The first touchdown Osterman found Tyler Hinkel for a 51 yard touchdown pass. In the third quarter he had all of the opening drives including running for 11 yards and throwing for 49 yards.
