MONROE GARDEN CLUB
December was an active month for members of the Monroe Garden Club. Activities included selling decorated Balsam wreaths at Christmas on the Plaza, the annual Christmas dinner at the Brandywine, placing wreaths in the North and Mound Cemeteries and sponsoring the Christmas Lighting Contest.
Winner were Entryway - Dan Hinkle 558 Fox Run Place, Child’s Delight – Patricia Fovis, 36 Ridge Wood Drive, All White – Tim Gadd 3045 Granny Smith, Most Effective Use of Lights Set to Music – Don Matalka 3041 Granny Smith. A sign was place in each winner’s yard and winners received a dated silver Santa Claus Bell. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees for making Monroe’s Christmas Season even brighter.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the James Monroe Community Room. Dan Diver of Diver Feed & Seed, Middletown will be the guest speaker.
