As the 2000-2001 school year approaches, Monroe Board of Education is completing its staff. At a special meeting held Wednesday, July 19th, the board members hired a new music teacher. Lemmon-Monroe High school alumnus, Paul Mann, was approved for the job as the school‘s new music teacher. Along with his responsibilities as music teacher he will also direct the high school band. Mann, a graduate of Miami University, is coming to Monroe from Clermont Northeastern District where he was the band director. Previously he had also been a teacher at Fenwick high school for about 2 years. He plans on directing the Monroe band in the "Big 10" style and will enter the band in a few competitions this year. Mann said that he is exited to be back and looking forward to teaching at Monroe. Superintendent Arnol Elam said that the board was extremely impressed with Mann‘s credentials. With this new hire, the board still has eight positions left to fill at the high school. Elam said that they are in the process of interviewing and should be 95% staffed by July 31.
