      • From Coach Meier:    Hello and welcome to 2010! What a great time plan ahead, prepare for the future, and work to improve ourselves! On behalf of the Hornet Softball Family, I would like to invite and encourage you to attend our inaugural FAST-PITCH SOFTBALL CLINIC, sponsored by myself  and Assistant Coach Aimee Tyree of Monroe High School. This is a great opportunity for players from ages 8 to 14 to get the season started in the right direction.

We strongly believe this experience will be a critical investment that will certainly pay off for both players and youth coaches. Players will learn ways to improve their performance, get to know and learn from the experiences of high school players and coaches, and invest in their future as a Hornet softball player. Coaches will learn the philosophy of the program, new drills, and other ways to enhance their instruction to have better success with their teams.

The clinic will include lunch on day 1 and a Hornet Softball t-shirt for participating. In addition, there will be concessions, opportunities to purchase spirit wear, softball equipment, and a raffle for a FREE one on one, private instruction session with the Head Coach.

So, come join our Hornet Softball Family on Saturday, March 20, and/or Sunday March 21, 2010 at Monroe High School. We look forward to seeing you there!

       Pulse Journal Quotes:

·         Cody Neace:  "It's definitely going to be different this year (who was on last year's team that qualified to the district.).  I just have to be relaxed and tune out all the crowd noise. It's going to be a lot easier to do that this year.  I was inconsistent at sectionals, who rolled a 188 and 150 in his first tow games. I got down on myself after the 150. When I'm not doing good, I get flustered, but my coach just told me to keep a cool attitude and then I rolled a 268. That saved me."

·         Coach John Caudy:  "We had some very big games and some low games.  We didn't make the adjustments we needed to, but we still had a great season.  We finished with a 9-7 record in dual matches. We're a young team that has come a long way, so we're looking forward to next year with everyone coming back."

  • Coach Amy Caudy:  I'm disappointed that we're done.  I thought we had a good chance to make it to districts as a team this year.  We bowled consistent last week, but it just wasn't good enough.  We needed to bowl a little bit better."
