Monroe Students Taking Part In Global Student Prayer Campaign
Tuesday, September 24, 2013 9:14:00 AM - Monroe Ohio

On September 25, 2013 the students of Monroe will be participating in “See You at the Pole”, a worldwide event which encourages students to pray for their schools, friends, leaders and nation around the flagpole of their schools. The event will take place on Wednesday, at 7:00 AM at Monroe Local Schools (220 Yankee Road).

See You at the Pole events in the United States are an annual event, occurring every fourth Wednesday of September. The student-led event is promoted almost entirely by the students themselves as a grassroots movement to increase awareness about the gathering.

Participation by millions of students across the country has, over the years, led to some legal challenges, but courts continue to rule in favor of permitting the students to organize and pray before or after school as long as it is not school-sponsored prayer.
