Ohio 63 Widening Project Approved
Friday, December 15, 2000 12:00:00 AM - Monroe Ohio
Tuesday, Dec. 12th, Monroe City Council finally decided to give the go ahead on a project that has been thought about since 1998, which is the widening of the east end of Ohio 63.
The cost of the project is estimated at $3.8 million and will be funded through a combination of local and state monies. The state is to fork over 80% and the city would pick up the remainder. Actual construction will not begin until somewhere between July 2004 and July 2005 and should be completed about a year from the starting date.
Development Director Jay Stewart claimed that this will help with the bogged down traffic, seen on the weekends, created by Traders World Flea Market. Plans include widening of the road and adding more turn lanes.
