Rt. 4 Speed limit was Mandated by State of Ohio
Friday, April 26, 2002 12:00:00 AM - Monroe Ohio
Traffic zooms along at 55-70 miles per hour on Rt. 4 near the near Rt. 63 despite the posted 50 MPH speed limit. Experts agree that posted limits are always exceeded by many vehicles. Reducing posted speed limits doesn‘t stop speeders, but it does slow them down relative to the reduction in the speed limit posted. Ohio Revised code 451121J provides little room for Monroe to post any speed limit above 50 MPH because of the number of residences and intersections in Monroe on Rt. 4.
