|Since the start of the new school system, Suzi Rubin has been on the school board. The original school board consisted of Suzi Rubin, Carol Brotherton, Jamie Pierce, John Birch and Tom Birdwell. Monday was her last board meeting, Chris Snyder beat Suzi Rubin by 11 votes to win her seat on the board.

Mrs. Rubin was instrumental in the Monroe split from Middletown schools. As one of the hardest working CORE members, Suzi Rubin developed a website, and kept it up-to-date with the latest information regarding the split. She spent numerous hours of her own time meeting with representatives from schools, government and businesses in the state.
During the last school board meeting, Arnol Elam, superintendent, recognized Suzi Rubin as a person who had a positive influence on him.
Suzi said she would run again for the school board in 2 years when she is eligible.
The entire school board was recognized for the continual improvement in the school achievement test results.
