Teachers Invited to Scottish Tea
Monday, May 19, 2003 12:00:00 AM - Monroe Ohio
Southwestern Ohio teachers are invited to have a “wee spot” of tea and learn a bit of Scottish culture when they pick up their personal copy of the Middfest International Scotland Resource Book.

The annual teacher event will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2003, 4-6 pm in the Middfest office on the fourth floor of the Middletown City Building, One Donham Plaza, in downtown Middletown.

The informal, drop in and stay-as-long-as-you-like event will feature Lenora Gilmore and Louise Reid, mother and daughter from Scotland.

Lenora Gilmore moved from Scotland to Cincinnati twelve years ago and soon began to share her background in dance with the Ohio Scottish community. Her skill as a seamstress resulted in her making the Highland Dancer costumes now used by most of Cincinnati Scottish dancers. Recently she opened The Celtic corner, featuring the best high quality imports from Scotland. Her daughter, Louise Reid, a skilled dancer and teacher is married to Robert Reid, president of the Cincinnati Caledonian Pipes and Drums.

While most southwestern Ohio schools will receive a copy of the teacher resource book for their media centers, only the teachers who attend the tea will receive personal copies of the guide.
