Monroe Business Council

A Division of the Mid-Miami Valley Chamber

Mission Statement: To enhance our members' capacity to realize their business goals, promote improved quality of life for our area, and serve as a source of leadership.

About the Monroe Business Council:

Goals and Objectives:
1. The Monroe Business Council will assist in maintaining Monroe as a community where everyone knows each other. This will be accomplished by:

Holding regular monthly meetings of the business community.
Organizing a "business after hours" type of meeting at an upcoming Monroe City Council meeting.
Placing an informational/welcome sign at the entry to the community.
2. The Monroe Business Council will provide assistance in business/economic development. This will be accomplished by:

Developing a list of valuable land and buildings in Monroe.
Identify issues impacting business expansion and economic development, and provide the leadership to assist in addressing the concern.
Assist in promoting the Monroe community.
3. The Monroe Business Council will work with the Monroe School District to create a learning environment where students can reach their learning potential. this will be accomplished by:

Becoming and remaining informed about the new Monroe School District.
Defining an appropriate role for the business community in assisting our schools to be successful in educating the youth of the community.


Assisting in defining and evaluating the need for facilities.
Maintaining and expanding the "Business Partners" program.
Providing funding as needed through the "Invest In Tomorrow" committee to assist in funding school levy campaigns.
4.The Monroe Business Council will work to ensure that the Monroe business community is well represented on the Board of Directors and in the activities of the Mid-Miami Valley Chamber of Commerce. This will be accomplished by:

Recommending individuals for nomination to the Board of Directors of the Mid-Miami Valley Chamber of Commerce.  
Assisting in insuring that a minimum of two "Business After Hours" are held in Monroe on an annual basis and by attending these programs.
Assist in the development and organization of the "Monroe Concert in the Park" community event.
Work to insure that representatives of the Monroe Business Council become involved on the various committees of the Mid-Miami Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Help enlist individuals to participate in the "Leadership Mid-Miami Valley" program.
5. The Monroe Business Council will provide a forum where the business community will gather at a regular time to hear about the issues and concerns impacting the development and growth of the community and will provide leadership to take action and resolve issues. This will be accomplished by:

Holding regular meetings on the first Friday of the month at 7:30 a.m. The meetings will be held at the Monroe Urban Center unless otherwise noted.  
Including a regular agenda item for City and School District updates.
