Stacy Wells by: Valerie Stokley

Stacy Wells is a senior at Lemon-Monroe High School. Besides working at Perkins, spending time with her family and friends, and doing her schoolwork, she is staying active in sports. Not only does she play basketball for Monroe, but she also plays soccer for Monroe and for a summer league. This athlete doesn't just score high points in games, but she maintains a 4.0 grade point average.

Wells is planning on attending Ball State in the fall of 2000. During her time at this Indiana college, she will be majoring in Sports Management. Looking further on, most see her athletic abilities continuing throughout Stacy's years at Ball State, and will hopefully bring victories to Ball State's Women's Basketball and Soccer team.

This is Stacy's 7th year of playing basketball. Stacy is Monroe's Point Guard this year, and she is averaging 8 points a game. Stacy left me with a motto that she tends to go by before going on to the court or the field. Her saying is, "Always have a positive attitude in everything you do." Since Stacy is one of Monroe's starters, she doesn't just begin a game thinking this, but she warms up with this motto already pounding in her head along with the feeling of intensity she and the team runs on the court with. Wells invites all who reads this article to Lemon-Monroe High Schools games and other activities.
