Help Wanted: Superintendent and Treasurer
March 21, 2000- Parents met Dan Hare the Butler County Education Superintendent at 7pm tonight to discuss the hiring of both a Superintendent and Treasurer for the newly formed school district. The meeting was held in the council chambers at the Monroe City Building and lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Parents are urged to attend these meetings so their opinions and concerns can be taken into account.

According to Mr. Hare when looking for a Superintendent,  "Look for experiences in the past that lead to a good superintendent. Excellent job performance reflects on who you are and what you stand for. The candidate should understand the culture of Monroe. The values of the individual should reflect the values of the community. "

   
 
Mr. Hare said, "Another option would be to hire an interim superintendent for 1 year. "The school district has no history since it did not exist prior to March 7, 2000. We should consider hiring an interim <Superintendent> for 1 year. Until the dust settles."  

Nearly 50 people, channel 9 News and a Middletown Journal reporter were in attendance for tonight's meeting. Many members of the various boards were there along with concerned community parents.

The Application Process
Candidates are asked to submit:

• A letter of application emphasizing qualifications and recent achievements, reasons for interest.
  
• A completed and signed application form, which can be obtained from Butler County Educational Service Center upon request at (513) 887-3710 or Email address.
  
• An up-to-date resume
  
• Candidates for Superintendent should submit a copy of current Ohio Superintendent's Certificate or 
• evidence one is obtainable.
  
• Candidates for Treasurer should submit a copy of a valid Ohio Treasurers License.
  
• Official transcripts of all post-secondary course work (photocopies accepted).
