We've lost too many people this year (especially the past few weeks) that have contributed so much to Monroe over the years. Here is another one:

DEHART, Geraldine "Gerry" (Bachman) age 90, of Monroe, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village.

She was born May 10, 1921 in Hamilton to Edward and Teckla (Nugent) Bachman. She lived 11 years at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village and was a lifetime resident of Monroe with husband, Loy of 64 years.

Not only was she a homemaker but joined her husband in their many business adventures, leaving many friends from LeSourdville Lake and the "Monroe's Dippy Dairy". She was an avid pet lover, enjoyed wintering in her Florida home and motor homing throughout the country. She handled all her life experiences with great humor.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; grandson, Thomas Beckett. Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Mike) Chase, Shannah DeHart both of Monroe; son, Dennis (Barbara) DeHart of West Carrollton; grandchildren, D.J. (Crissy) DeHart, Denessa DeHart, Kelly ( Dr.Bryan) Wood; great-grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Abigail, Tyler, Miranda, Olivia, Colton and Sophie.

A very special "thank you" to Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village for their loving care of our mother.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm at Mary H. Kittredge Chapel at Mount Pleasant Retirement Village. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 1:30 pm with Rev. Karen Fleming officiating. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery. In lieu of flowers: Mt. Pleasant Life Care Fund, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe, Ohio 45050. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.bakerstevensparramore.com.
