I left a couple of messages last week, haven't heard back. So, I'll ask the question here.

When is/was the deadline for ordering pavers for the veterans memorial?

Thanks,
-Bob

Thanks John.

But, either I'm dense or there's no deadline listed there for orders. And, the number listed is the number where I've left two messages and have not yet received a call back. It's really not urgent for me, other than not wanting to miss a deadline that could (for all I know) be looming.

My suggestion would be to print, complete form and mail it in asap.

But you are right about the deadline. No one knows for sure.

It's hoped that construction will start in the Spring. You have plenty of time to send in your paver request. We hope to receive paver requests right up to to the construction date.
We will also be adding pavers AFTER the memorial is constructed. We have a person lined up that will engrave the bricks at the Memorial.
That's why there's no deadline on the form.

Will the design be the same as the artist rendering of the Vets Memorial on the pdf?

John B.

It's going to look pretty much like that. For more views, there's a sign posted at the intersection of Main St and Rt 63 with more pictures.

There will be a wall with the Eagle that the City purchased (a number of years ago) on it. There will be plaques representing the different service branches (Army, Air Force, Navy , Marines, Merchant Marines)and the memorial will be lit at night . It will be very nice.

The engraved paver bricks will be in circles near the center of the Memorial. There will be a star in the center of the memorial.

I will try to get some pictures to post that are a little more detailed. The picture on the paver form is OK but does not show the best views of the memorial.

Thanks to all for your support of the Memorial. It will be a nice addition to downtown Monroe

Update from tonights meeting:

The Monroe Veterans Memorial site plans and building plans have been approved. "We expect to break ground on the memorial soon," said Development Director Kevin Chezar.
