Our cat had some sores around her mouth and we took her to the vet for it a few weeks ago (said it was feline acne). They went away and we thought it was fine until we happened to look under her chin the other day and realized ALL of the hair under her chin is completely gone and there is a sore also.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? Our vet is out of town and I'm not sure if I should wait or find somewhere else to take her...

It could be as simple as an allergy to a plastic or stainless bowl. That often causes feline acne. Try a ceramic crock and see if it makes any difference in a few weeks.
Also, does the chin look scaley as opposed to small bumps? It could be ringworm (a fungus). It's easy to treat but very slow and is contagious to humans.
You don't want the sore to get infected and you can try a little peroxide to keep it dry. If you notice any oozing or swelling don't delay a trip to the vet for antibiotics.
