That would be correct. Just Saturday.
I'm assuming the same rules still apply from previous years unless Rumpke has modified them. Either way - it'll be listed on the city website.

The following lists acceptable items and how to contain them: (all dimensions are maximum).

Carpet Cut to 4 foot lengths and tied in 2 foot rolls.

Wood Bundled in 4 foot lengths and 2 foot in diameter and tied. Please hammer all nails.

Fencing Bundled in 4 foot lengths and 2 foot rolls.

Metal Poles Cut to 4 foot lengths and tied together.

Construction Debris in cans or bags of no more than 60 lbs. Do not place in boxes.

Furniture/Appliances Appliances containing chlorofluorocarbons (CVCs)i.e. refrigerators, freezers, air conditions, or ice makers, are not collectible until CFC removal is complete. Please call Rumpke at 742-2900 or visit www.rumpke.com to download the necessary refrigerant recovery forms. Once CFC removal is certified, please place the item at the curb for collection with a CFC removal sticker and the completed Refrigerant Recovery Statement (the recovery statement that you received from Rumpke).

Miscellaneous Small Items Place small household items in cans or bags. Drain all fluids from items that contain gasoline or oil.

The following items ARE NOT considered large items and will NOT be picked up: car batteries, household chemicals, car and truck tires, yard waste (grass, leaves, brush), rocks, dirt, concrete, regular trash.

Good question!
(and for the record, I never said June 14th)
That should be June 11th, I would think.

So have the garage sale dates been set for the prior weekend or were they the dates just being considered?

LOL! Thanks John. I can look like an idiot all by myself. I don't need any help with that - but thanks.

We will be discussing those dates in more detail tonight. If anyone would like to come to council and give us some feedback, please do.

And I personally absolutely appreciate having a tool such as this to read some of those concerns and bring them to council.
(Whereas previously I simply used this tool for my own self-serving douchebaggary. )

I'll be bringing your comments (except for the parts about me being a moron - they've already realized that) to the meeting tonight; but if you, or someone you know, would like to come join in the festivities and share their opinions, I'd be super-excited.

Follow up: Last night we passed a motion and set the date for Large Item Pick-up to Saturday, June 11th.
There will be more information on the city website, as well as published in the the Monroe Messenger, as we get closer to this date.

I missed this. What time did they come by? I didn't see anyone with large items to throw away in my neighborhood. Of course I didn't check till 11 am.

I had an old non-functioning 42" LCD TV that had gone bad. I checked the Internet for parts but the circuit board I needed was almost $500 so it was not worth fixing. We set it out prior to the big storm and in the middle of the storm someone came by and picked it up.
