I hope they keep the same and very helpful employees. I really dislike shopping but never mind stopping at Jubilee.

They have King Vitamin? I've been going all the way to Jungle Jims for something I can buy across the street???? ARGHHHHH...
They have Quisp or Quake? I haven't seen Quake in many years but JJ has Quisp.

I was hoping for a Plowboys. They always have the best produce. I'd love to support a smaller market over Kroger (I dislike their meat) but I didn't shop Jubilee because I'd have to read every label and search for the expiration date. I hope the new guy cleans it up and clears out the old. I'd like to give them a try. More importantly, I'm glad the place won't sit empty.

It took a while but I knew I recognized the Finke's name. They have the IGA down in Pleasant Ridge. I used to live around the corner and shopped there all the time. Nice little market!

Now if only they'd bring a 2nd Pleasant Ridge Chili with them for the remaining open retail space!! Awesome chili and double deckers!!

Sorry to see you all so happy about this. This is a great family and great family to work for. I hope something can be done to keep them here, not only for my job, but for the family value they stand behind. You'll never get the service anywhere else that you get there!!!!

We have to remember that Jubilee came here when no one else would. Of course, it's more prestigious to have a Kroger.

2015hornetsMOM makes a great point. Sometimes the way a company is run and the way they treat people is more important than size and name recognition. Sometimes.....

Hornetsmom,
I don't feel that anyone is 'happy' to see Munafo's leaving and IGA taking over. Personally I am just happy that someone will occupy the business. Monroe doesn't need empty retail spaces.

They have Boar's Head bacon, which is the best I ever had. :)

I never want to see anyone lose their job. I would hope Council will look into this before the switch is approved. The times I shopped there, the checkout girls were always very nice. I never had contact with anyone else. Lord knows, I love that the place is close to home but my only issue was spoiled and expired food (bacon, produce, bakery items, and staples). Yes, I complained. It didn't get fixed.

In contrast, if something is really great, I compliment that too.

I personally buy alot of my meat at Jubilee as their selection seems fresher and more attractive. The other shopping I admit I use it as a quick stop, the produce never looks that great. Their lunch meat lasts longer for me than Krogers and they have GREAT baked potato salad.

Just because they're selling to another family doesn't mean you're losing your job. Or does it? If that's the case, don't think they will do very well in Monroe.

I personally prefer Jubilee's deli over Kroger. The prices are much lower and quality of the meat is much better. Also, we love their mixed pickles (which I cannot find at Kroger). I just hope the new IGA is cleaner than the old one. The only thing I really remember about the old IGA is how filthy & dirty it was! Maybe it just needed newer floors and it was an old building, I don't know.

Was in Germantown Saturday evening visiting my sister. Had to make a run to IGA...I must say that the store was very clean, well organized and stocked. Sis says it's always that way. She worked for McGee's when she was a teen and is very impressed.

You are correct Bob. It is sad to see the munifo family close business here in monroe. I have never been in the store and not gotten a smile or a hello from any member of the staff. I always enjoyed talking to the folks in the deli area and they were always so nice.
