6th Grade to Remain at Elementary School
Wednesday, May 23, 2001 12:00:00 AM - Monroe Ohio
Monroe City Building - During today‘s meeting of the Monroe Facilities Design Team, Arnol Elam, the Superintendent of Monroe Schools, said the 6th Grade Class will remain the elementary school during the 2001-2002 School Year.

The number of elementary school students increased to 624 right after the split. This increase required the installation of several portable classrooms. Early enrollment projections for 2001-2002 school year indicate a need for even more classrooms. With no place for additional mobile classrooms, new ideas are being considered.

Some classes such as ART and Music may lose their rooms in order to provide additional classrooms. These classes (Art and Music) may be ‘carted‘. That is they move from classroom to classroom.

This is a much more desirable solution than moving the 6th Grade to the JR/SR High School. But that‘s just my opinion. What is your opinion? Visit The Voice and tell us.
