Brenda Gehm takes new position at Monroe Elementary
Tuesday, July 25, 2000 12:00:00 AM - Monroe Ohio
Brenda Gehm, former third grade teacher at Monroe Elementary, has been hired as Literacy Facilitator for that school for the 2000-01 school year. Mrs. Gehm will be teaching a course to all students except kindergarteners once a week for 45 minutes, similar to the way art, music and physical education are taught. This course will involve language arts and include library skills, reading, writing and computers. This is the first year for such a course in this school system and Mrs. Gehm and Mrs. Shull are extremely excited about the many possibilities this class will offer the students. Several more positions have been filled at the elementary school including Lou Shockley, former Mayfield teacher, who has been hired to teach third grade (the position formerly held by Brenda Gehm). Karlena Boyle has been hired to teach Special Education; Kristi Flannery, Severe Behavioral Handicapped; Carri Kocian, Multiple Handicapped; Teri Rollins, Psychologist; and Lonnie Centers, Phil Scheidt, and Joel Crouch, custodians.
