Hornet Fans,

If you’re a true Blue & Gold Hornet Fan, the rest of your week is now packed following your teams.  Thursday night is The Coaches Show @ Capozzi’s Restaurant; Friday night it the BIG GAME; and Saturday night is the Sectional Finals for the Boys Soccer team.  Hornet Country is the place to be!

¨      Friday night is the game of the season:  Monroe vs. Edgewood.  The contest is expected to be a sellout crowd, and Jack Gordon will call the game on WPFB.   Mother Nature is providing perfect football weather (a sunny 55 degrees), so come out early and tailgate with the fans.

¨      Thursday night Coach Krause and several players will be featured guests of Jack Gordon on The Coaches’ Show.  The show broadcasts over WPFB and originates from Capozzi’s Restaurant on Central Avenue from 8:00-9:00 pm.  You can show your team spirit by having dinner at Capozzi’s while the show takes place J  What a great ‘Kick-Off’ to Friday’s game!

¨      The Boys soccer team continues to move thru the sectional tournament by winning games against #2 ranked Summit Day (1-0) last Saturday and Madison (2-1) Tuesday night.  They will play archrival Fenwick this Saturday night at Cincinnati Mariemont @ 7:00.

¨      The Boys Cross Country team won the MML South league!  David Miller will represent Monroe at the Regional tournament as an individual qualifier.

¨      The Girls soccer season came to an end with a loss against 4th state ranked Kettering Alter.  They had a great run this year with a 14-3-2 season record and MML South championship – for the second year in a row!

¨      Special thanks to the Tom Wagers family and Bob Phelps family for overseeing the Hornet Patron Parking lot before every home football game.  They’re at the scene by 5:30 and welcome all the Hornet Patrons to the game.  We appreciate their commitment to helping the Monroe Athletic Booster Club and student athletes.

And, thanks to Diane Finney to providing the info on The Coaches’ Show.  If you have material you’d like to include, please send it to this email address.
