Monroe Area Optimist Club
Friday, November 7, 2003 12:00:00 AM - Monroe Ohio
The Monroe Area Optimist Club would like for you to know that our golf tourney this past spring was “wet but successful.” BACK IN FULL SWING only survived nine holes, but the post round festivities more than made up for our bad luck. The food was good and our raffle/auction produced some hilarious moments as well as enabling us to provide even more support to the youth of our community. After all, the motto of every Optimist is “friend of youth.” We also realize now, that a late start in our decision to have the tourney and solicit sponsorships was not conducive to area businesses, being that budget items are already figured from the previous year. So with that in mind, our club is trying to get an earlier start for the year of 2004.
On Saturday June 5, 2004, the Monroe Area Optimist Club will sponsor our Second Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Pleasant Hills Golf Club in Monroe, Ohio. We are sending letters like this one to all of the community businesses and organizations in hopes that you will become a “Friend of Youth” in our goal to support all of the area children. Our goal in our second golf scramble is to reach the $5,000 plateau and we know we can make it with your help.
The Monroe Area Optimist Club seeks both corporate and individuals to h reach our goals for the 2004 tourney. We are seeking co-sponsors with many amenities for $500. (Your name will be included on all advertising and publications). Hole sponsors will have a 18” x 24” sign posted conspicuously on the course. Signs are available for a donation of $100.00 each. Checks should be made out to the Monroe Area Optimist Club and mailed to: PO Box 85 Monroe, Ohio, 45050. You and your guests are invited to play or attend and enter a foursome if you wish. (Donors of $500 or more will be automatically entitled to a foursome entry) We are also accepting golf related equipment to use for prize raffles, such as clubs, putters, boxes of balls or other items. Our being a non-profit organization will also get you a 501c4 tax deduction put to good use.
In order for us to be able to provide our supporters with their due recognition, there must be allotted time for our suppliers to be able to make the signs. To accomplish this, we must set a deadline of May 8, 2004, to complete the order.
We thank you for your anticipated support. We are very OPTIMISTIC that getting an earlier start will give each of you a chance to include us in your charitable organization donations category for the coming year of 2004.
