The Monroe Garden Club held their November meeting at the Delhi Flower and Garden Center on Cincinnati-Dayton Road.  Tim Porter presented a program on Tropical Plants and their care that can be enjoyed in your home during the winter months.  Blooming plants to brighten your home now include Christmas Cactus, Poinsettia, Kalanchoe, Cyclamen, Orchids, Gardenia and African Violets.  “Green” plants to be enjoyed now are new varieties of  Aglaonema (Chinese Evergreen), Dracaena, Philodendron, Rosemary and Zameoculcas Zamefolia ( Z. Z. plant that thrives on neglect).  Members then toured the Greenhouse.  Jessie Hull, president presided over a short business meeting.  Ruth Ann Charles was introduced as a guest. 

The annual Christmas Party will be Tuesday, December 14th at 6:00 p.m. at the Houston Inn on Rt. 42, Lebanon.  The program will be “Celebrating the Holidays with Family and Friends” The exhibit is a gift exchange wrapped for judging.  Members will carpool from the Monroe City Building Parking Lost at 5:45 p.m.  Guests are always welcome, join us if you are interested in gardening of any type.
