School Watercolor Paintings On Sale
Tuesday, May 4, 2004 10:06:39 AM - Monroe Ohio
Monroe Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization officially began selling nostalgic reproductions of two watercolor paintings of the district’s present school buildings with a presentation to the School Board on Mon., April 26th. Many of those in attendance purchased the pictures and reminisced.
“You know this building was state-of-the-art in the 1950s,” One of the attendees commented, “Nowhere in Ohio did people have a beautiful art-deco-style building like this?”

With the excitement of moving into one new building some of the members of the P.T.O. thought that it would be important to preserve the past by commissioning this work. Glendale, Ohio resident Jack Howard was hired to create these renderings. Each of the two prints measure 17” x 5 ½ “. One depicts the Elementary School, while the other is of the Junior High/Senior High School.
