Woman's Center for Hope
Thursday, March 25, 2004 3:24:02 PM - Monroe Ohio
Women’s Center for HOPE, located at 43 “C” New Garver Road in Monroe, needs donations of new and gently-used baby equipment and furniture -- particularly cribs, car seats, high chairs, changing tables, and gates. All items should be clean and must meet current child-safety standards. Our center cannot use equipment with missing, torn, or broken parts or straps. We are also unable to accept used crib mattresses. Area residents, churches, and businesses may contribute items, and all donations are tax-deductible.

Donations will be placed in the boutique where young mothers, moms-to-be, or couples will acquire them after participating in any of the center’s “Learn and Earn” programs. Boutique volunteer and Monroe Elementary School staff member, Cindy Basford, assists clients with their “purchases” on Saturday mornings from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.

“The programs and all of the great people at the center have helped me through a lot,” stated Tasha F., an expectant parent of one child and one of the center’s most faithful “Learn and Earn” participants, “if not for this center, I would be at a loss for baby items – and my sanity!” Tasha and many others in this area are employed, but find that by participating in our programs, they are able to acquire baby equipment and clothing while still managing to afford basic needs.

Donations may be dropped off at the center on Tuesdays from noon until 5:30 P.M., Thursdays from noon until 6:30 P.M., or on Saturdays when the boutique is open. The boutique will be closed on any Saturday that occurs near a holiday. Arrangements may be made for additional drop-off times or dates by calling the center’s business telephone number, (513) 539-7515.

Opportunities are also available to civic, school, or church groups who wish to perform public service by distributing informational pamphlets about our center to residents of some Monroe neighborhoods and in other nearby communities.

Anyone interested in contributing financially or in learning about volunteer opportunities in this pro-life, faith-based ministry may contact director, Cindy Hoffman, or lead-consultant, Darlene Richey, at the number above for more information.
