Monroe Woodcraft Furniture wins... Thanks to Troy Jones' pitching and defensive fielding the game was tied at 6 at the end of the 3rd inning. In the fourth inning Monroe added 3 RBI's and Shiloh added 1 to give Monroe a 9 to 7 advantage. After a scoreless fifth inning, both teams had an opportunity to record the win. But Monroe's Casey Hinkle added 3 RBI's on a double in the sixth inning. Strong pitching by Monroe reliever Jarryd Lentz and excellent defensive play by the rest of the team in the bottom of the sixth secured the win for Monroe with an impressive 14 to 7 victory to open the season. |
