The Monroe Lions Club has scheduled its annual Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 1 p.m. on April 11, at the Community Park, 500 S. Main St. in Monroe.

The hunt will be conducted in three areas of the park the area around the log cabin and front of the shelter house, the soccer field between the large parking lot and the cemetery and the soccer field that is east of that one, city officials said.

The large parking lot will be blocked off during the event. Parking will be available west of the concession stand building and in the Monroe Swim Club parking lot.

Hmmm that's interesting. Might be hard to find the Easter Eggs since there aren't any soccer fields at the park in April. Hope the Easter Bunny doesn't get lost.

As long as it is advertised, I don't think John Beagle cares where I reference it.

But nice try...

We took our 14 year old once.... once.... back when he was 5 or 6. you are right too many adults running for the hills grabbing all the eggs....

our youngest has never been, we have out own hunt at our house.

Yes...Adults, please stand back and watch your children instead of getting in the way of the younger smaller ones...You can get your own eggs at the store...

They should have a section just for the little ones who like to take their sweet time...

THANKS for publishing this for the Lions Club. We appreciate it.

There is a section just for the small kids. It's over by the swing sets/ log cabin area.
The older kids are separated and use the soccer/baseball fields.

Is there a rain day?

It's going to be soggy from today, though.

Does anyone know what time the park will be closed to the public? My daughters' softball team is supposed to have practice from 10:30-12:00 in tomorrow.

the park closes at 11AM. The Lions Club has it reserved from 11 AM - 3 PM.

Teams attempting to practice will be asked to leave.

Hope everyone was able to make it and had a good time.
This is, by far, our most fun event of the year.

At least it was sunny this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
