Does anyone know if I can drop off my city taxes in the nightly drop box in the back of the city building, or is that box only for utilities?
I have been calling the office but can't get anyone to answer!
Thank you! |

I could just imagine if the answer was no.

Clerk 1: Hey Alice, someone put their city tax return in the utilities box, what should I do with it? Clerk 2: Well is it a utility payment? Clerk 1: No
Together: Deep Six that bad boy....lol

I was informed that all tax forms whether mailed, hand-delivered, or dropped off must be prepared as outlined below or they will not be accepted:

In office drop-offs will be accepted between the hours of 8:00 AM-8:03 AM, 1:13 PM - 1:26 PM, and then from 4:00 PM until 45000e-04 PM

This is fantastic that they offer this service. I just watched my son, who is a part time life guard, have to write a check for $43 to the city. Might not sound like much to most of us but it is a fare sum to a kid that is getting ready to go off to school. He didn't make enough to file state or federal taxes but had to pay Monroe city tax. I will keep going to the council meetings to hopefully see how his money is spent. |
