Saw a few of these signs out today. Can someone explain to me how voting no saves "our" homes? It won't save mine, and I assume that as a resident of Monroe I am an "our". I think it is more likely that a vote no will hurt "our" town and cause it no longer viewed as a nice place to live.

Those signs were very poorly done - can't read all the information quick enough to even know what it is talking about.

I saw Vote No signs that are attached to utility poles. Is that permitted?

I've not seen anyone hanging No signs on telephone poles but Vote Yes signs were there first.

I dunno if it's a NO or a YES sign but there's one about 15' up on a pole at the intersection of Todhickman and Britton.

The more I read from the Vote No posters makes me feel better about the levy passing. Their reasons for voting no just aren't there! Those are poster board magic marker signs with a no on them, one is posted on the telephone pole at the corner of Carson and Cinti-Dayton. Not very well made!

Thanks
Paul

Just to be clear, there are two "Yes" votes in my home. But let's be careful painting the "No" people as ignorant. I know it's fun to make fun of poorly constructed signs with grammatical errors, but not everyone voting no is stupid. I know some very intelligent people with kids who are leaning towards voting against the levy. I just don't want to see the discussion degrade into name calling and snarky comments.

Attaching signs to poles is illegal. Pole climbers could fall from hitting a nail gaffing.

Maybe its truth in print..those NO people did not spend a lot of money on fancy signs because "they cannot afford it"!
On the other hand,,,those fancy vote YES signs complete with school logo obviously cost more! So why did those posters not put that money into a fund of some sort to actually benefit the kids...like pay to play, text books, supplies,etc....

Just sayin...

Guessing the yes signs were paid for by the tax payer and thus the yes people only like to spend other peoples money not their own.

I'm pretty sure asking for yes votes IS like putting money into a fund. That fund is called the levy.

That's always the argument isn't it? "I can't afford it!" He says as he walks by the formal dining room his family never sets foot in, inside his 2500 sq ft house that only three people live in. "I've don't have enough money at the end of the month!" She says as she makes out the check for the monthly payment on her 2012 SUV while the 60" television blares the latest Netflix video in the background. "The economy has us all in a pinch!" He says as he runs his sprinklers for 10 straight hours while sipping Yuenglings on his beautiful composite deck.

Me too. I may have one right after casting my yes vote. As I start a fire in my fire pit using $100 bills as kindling. After all, since I'm voting yes, I must just love wasting money.

Where do you live V mayor I have some extra cash to burn as well.
I have signs for the fire from the fundraising drives from the football & baseball teams.( You know the ones that help the parents that can't afford the pay to play fees)
We can have a meeting how to get more money from the poor and old folks of Munroe.

I'll give you the address but I doubt they'll just let you waltz in. It's a gated community and unless you drive up in a Rolls, we typically just turn you away. If you do get in, you'll recognize me right away. I'll be the one in the three piece, pin-striped suit with the cigar and monocle. If I'm not there I'll be on the polo grounds and I'll have Jeeves bring you over.

Just my two cents from what I am seeing. The Yes voters are unified and have one common sign repress ing the school colors and in greater numbers. The No voters are a bunch of smaller groups that each have their own agenda and have not collaborated together to get organize resulting in all the different signs but in smaller numbers. As always, mount pleasant will carry this vote.
