The Monroe High School conducted its Annual Honors and Awards Program for 2010-2011 on May 18, 2011. Robert Leahy, Principal of the high school opened and closed the program which saw a $93,257 increase in scholarships awarded this year. There was $ 2,959,081 awarded to Monroe seniors. Last year $2,865,824 was awarded.
Here is a breakdown of the awards presented:
Air Force Academy
Emilee Ledford has received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. The appointment is equivalent to a four year scholarship to a top tier university with an overall value of $415,000. Upon graduation, Emilee will become a commissioned officer in the Air Force working in one of 38 career fields in the world’s premier air, space, and cyberspace force.
