The Monroe Garden Club held the February meeting at the James Monroe Community Room. Hostesses for the event were Nancy Walck and Madonna Krol. Becky Howard, president presided over a short business meeting. Ellen Kinsey, awards chairman reported Certificates of Appreciation were presented to Mr. & Mrs. John Kramer of 145 Gorman Court for "Outstanding Landscape Lighting" and Mr. & Mrs. Tom Leeds of 7295 Carson Road for "Outstanding Artistic Lighting".
Peggy Abernathy received a blue ribbon and Mariy Niebur a red ribbon for their horticulture, which were houseplants, owned and nourtured for 3 months.
After a delicious desert course, Tina Nguyen presented a program on rubber stamping. Members then made a variety of note cards, bookmarks and gift bags.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in the James Monroe Community Room. Sherry Berns of Berns Garden Center will present a program on "Growing Summer and Fall Bulbs".
