| Will Americana Amusement Park be open anytime in the near future? That is a question officials, both state and local, are awaiting an answer for. The new owner Jerry Couch previously stated that the Amusement park could be open as early as the beginning of August. Monroe’s Director of Development said that he has not been contacted by Couch in weeks. Couch was supposed to sit down with city officials to discuss the issues but had to cancel due to scheduling conflicts. Further more the amusement park owner has not scheduled an appointment with Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Division of Amusement Ride Safety to have any inspections done and it will become harder to get a scheduled time for such an inspection the longer it is postponed. Couch a Butler County native and owner of Couch’s Camper Inc. and the Jace Corp., purchased Americana Amusement Park in May from Park River Corp., who had owned it since 1996. |
