Main Street Monroe Endorses Birdwell, Leeds and Irwin to School Board
It is our opinion that Birdwell, Leeds and Irwin are the best three candidates to fill the vacancies on the school board this fall .
Each of these candidates has a balance of concern regarding both fiscal responsibility and academic excellence.
Irwin brings worldly experience and a focus on math and science. Leeds is rooted in our community for 64 years and has been highly involved in Monroe. Birdwell is clearly the most qualified and experienced candidate. He has been a school board member since the inception of the school district and knows all the important issues involving the school system.
Clearly there will be major financial and academic challenges in the near future. These three candidates are our best choices to handle these challenges.
In our opinion Birdwell, Leeds and Irwin are Monroe's best, most qualified candidates.
