Council members talked trash at this weeks meeting. That's trash pickup services from the top two trash pickup companies in our area Waste Management and Rumpke.
"Rumpke provided us a fixed pricing, and we like their service." said councilwoman Lora Stillman.
Waste Management would not provide a fixed price due to diesel price volatility. Waste managements 2 year proposal was lower however Rumpke would provide a fixed charge for the term of the contract.
According to Bill Brock, residents are likely to pay $13.50 per month for the service.
A decision on a trash service must be made by February 1, 2006 so Resolution 47-2005 was passed. This will allow City Manager Bill Brock to enter into a contract with the company of he deems lowest and/or best bidder.
