If you recall, I submitted a letter last week to the members of the Monroe School Board as well as Superintendent Elam regarding the quality of the board minutes and delay in postings. I realized that due to Spring Break, many members of the board my have been vacationing which is why I waited until after Monday's school board meeting to post the results of the issue I addressed.
As of this post, I have received three responses from those whom my email was sent. Tom Birdwell and Mike Irwin both responded to me and agreed that the minutes do indeed need to be more inclusive and they agreed to look into the reason for the delay in posing. I also received the following response from Board President Chris Snyder.

Mr Murphy,
We will take your concerns into consideration and I have forwarded them on to our Treasurer. I apologize if we are behind on our posting, we should be posting the minutes as soon as we adopt them. When I get back from vacation next week I will speak to our Treasurer about this. We do keep an audio tape of every open meeting which can be listened to in the board office Monday through Friday during board hours. Our attorney has assured us that by keeping the audio tape we meet and exceed all requirements of the open records law commonly referred to as the "Sunshine Law".
Thanks, Chris Snyder | |
