Americana owner Jerry Couch was anticipating opening
Americana in the Spring of 2001, however, indications
are is that the park will remain closed indefinitely.
Attempts to contact Mr. Couch were unsuccessful,
however, remodeling that was started last summer has
come to a halt. The park‘s phone number has also been
disconnected and the park‘s office building has been
temporarily leased to the Kohl‘s Department Store
recruiting office. It appears that all of the rides are
still in the park, including the Serpent roller
coaster. That ride was scheduled to be sold due to the
high maintenance costs associated with maintaining the
ride. |
