Ohio Department of Transportation officials met to evaluate options that may reduce the number of fatal accidents on a nine-mile stretch of Interstate 75 running between Monroe and Franklin. The road is being evaluated at this time because none of the accidents have much in common to link them. The four options to be evaluated over the next 2 months are:
Installing a guardrail - $2 million - 4 to 6 weeks Installing a mound in the median - $2 million - 6 to 8 months Regrading the median - $2 million - 6 to 8 months Installing a concrete barrier - $12 million - 6 to 8 months
All four of the possiblities would cover 12 miles of Interstate 75. |
