| City Council viewed water rate increase plan on Tuesday that would go through 2006. With the new plan, water users would pay an additional 43 cents per 1,000 gallons of water this year. 52 cents in 2003. 62 cents in 2004. 11 cents in 2005. 12 cents in 2006. Residents using 10,000 gallons of water a month now pay $22.60. That figure would increase to $31 in April, $36.50 next year, $42.50 in 2004, $43.60 in 2005, $44.80 in 2006. The typical water user uses approximately 8,000 - 10,000 gallons of water. A second rate would be in place for users using more that 20,000 gallons of water a month. This would be the first water rate increase since 1991. |
