Hannah Brooks is still in critical condition and Nathan Russell remains in fair condition at Dayton‘s Miami Valley Hospital. The accident occurred at 3pm Friday after a truck collided with the car that Ms. Brooks was driving. The car was driving southbound on Yankee road and the truck was traveling westbound on Rt. 63. Another truck was turning off RT. 63 onto Yankee north and may have obstructed the Ms. Brooks view.
This is a very dangerous intersection! In our view a traffic light would have prevented this accident. Monroe Mayor Morris was asked about the delay in getting the lights at that intersection operational. "Unfortunately, this is out of the jurrisdiction of Monroe. This is just outside Monroe city limits, it is up to the state to get the lights activated." said Mayor Mike Morris.
Both Ms. Brooks and Mr. Russell are Monroe High School Seniors and has planned to attend the prom next weekend. We wish them a speedy recovery. |
