The Monroe Optimist in cooperation with the City of Monroe will be hosting Christmas on the Plaza this weekend, Saturday, December 8th. From Noon to 8 P.M. on the City Building Plaza, you can come and experience:
* Holiday entertainment from various community, church and school groups.
* A variety of holiday gift booths
* Holiday food from area vendors and restaurants
* Visit the Monroe Historical Society and tour Chicahominy House
* Gift items and memberships from the Monroe Lending Library
* Holiday Wreaths from the Monroe Garden Club
* Win a chance for a special visit from Santa at your home
* Drop off a toy at the Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots Booth
* FREE pictures with Santa Clause
* FREE carriage rides
Transportation to Christmas on the Plaza will be provided by a shuttle bus service from the old high school parking lot and from Monroe Community Park. If you need something to do tonight, Thursday, December 6th, you should check out the Middletown Journal Balloon Glow at Light Up Middletown in Smith Park.
