Highlights from the Booster Club meeting:
- The changes instituted this year to manage the
concession stand were effective. The increase in profits from the previous year
was greater than $15,000. A special thanks to Ted & Delores Rarig and the
Harrington family for their efforts in making the transition successful. The
Concession Stand subteam will regroup this spring to prepare for the 2008-2009
season.
- Ted announced his resignation as manager of
the concession stand. He will continue through the spring season. Ted did an
outstanding job of managing the concession stand this year. Thank you,
Ted!
- Coach Farrish and the Girls Basketball
team managed the 50 / 50 fundraiser during basketball season. The funds were
used to support their program.
- The Golf Scramble will be
held this summer on an
August Sunday. The 3 venues under consideration are Shaker Run, Weatherwax and
Waldon Pond. For Q&A, contact Rocky Sebastion or Coach Hall.
- There is a subteam working on rebuilding
the school sign on the corner of Rt. 63 and Main Street - by US
Bank.
- Dave Farrish researched the cost and design
of an electronic sign for the corner of Rt. 63 and Yankee Road. Dr.
Lolli will move this forward with the school board and city
leaders.
- A summary from the ‘Voice of the Customer’
was shared with members. Officers met with coaches and club customers to 1)
discuss the process for distributing club monies and 2) understand how the club
can better serve its customers. Nine participants provided data for this
summary, and comments and recommendations were captured from the discussions.
Members discussed the summary and were asked to come back to the March meeting
with ideas.
- A skeleton draft for a ‘5 Year Plan’ was
distributed for discussion. Where do the members want this club to be in 2013?
How do we get there? What’s the path? Members were asked to come back to the
March meeting with their ideas for moving the club
forward.
- The Great American Ball
Park is in need of
volunteers, and the club has agreed to manage the logistics if the athletic
department staff would like to work the events and reap the money. The club
will be working with John Singleton and the coaching staff in the near future to
schedule dates. Stay tuned for more info.
