Centre Football just completed their recruiting for 2008 and Tyler Osterman former QB for Monroe Local Schools has accepted Centre College recruitment offer.
Centre's football tradition is one rich in accomplishments. Centre's football
history began in April 1880, when the Colonels participated in the first
football game played south of the Ohio River, in Lexington, Kentucky. Since that
time, Centre ranks 12th among Division III schools with 509 wins, 374 losses,
and 37 ties.
This year there are 32 commitments from student athletes
representing six different states including Tyler Osterman from Monroe, Ohio.
Tyler will report to pre-season camp this August. His freshman class could be the most talented class Centre State has had in the last 10
years. Numerous players from this class were recognized as either an All State
and/or All Conference performer. One third of this class played in a State
Championship game.
The skilled positions of this incoming class will certainly
challenge and compete for playing time this fall. Overall, this is a ‘banner”
recruiting class, the coaches are very excited about developing into a
championship team!
