Newly elected John MacDonald, Leslie Stone and Brett Guido will be seated and one or two of them may appointed to Board President or Vice President at 2010 organizational meeting at 7 p.m. in the Monroe Elementary cafeteria.
Former Board President Tom Leeds lost his first re-election bid in the November general election. He we the second least vote getter of five candidates vying for three seats.
"The voters have spoken and they said we need all new board members." said a resident who asked to remain nameless since her child is a student at the elementary school.
John MacDonald was the top vote-getter, with 2,039 votes or 27 percent, the Butler County Board of Elections. MacDonald was followed by Stone, who came in second with 1,641 votes or 22 percent. Guido came in third with 1,441 votes, or 19 percent.
Also anounced today the Monroe Board of Education will hold a Board Retreat* on Saturday, January 2, 2010 from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. in the Monroe Board Office. The agenda will be board goals and planning for 2010. No action will be taken.

Meeting dates for year are determined; mandatory appointments are made like official newspapers, attorneys, title 1 coordinator, etc. Usual typical appointments.
There are also Regular business meeting is same where voting will occur and Work sessions with no voting. Work Sessions / Retreats are just a time for board to work together on issues.
