Middletown City Schools have declining enrollment, high infrastructure and legacy costs and today, it was announced that the schools funding from the state will be reduced by $260,000 over the next few years. A bond issue is in the making here.
Lebanon will be voting on a school renewal levy. A five year, 2 mill permanent improvements levy will appear on Novembers ballot.
Madison School board is having a 'special meeting' to discuss improvements to their athletic facilities.
Both Middletown and Lebanon have high building repair and maintenance costs. This is one cost that Monroe soon will have minimized. Currently, maintenance costs are a real issue with the Monroe JR/SR high school. The new school campus will (hopefully) keep Monroe's repair and maintenance costs low.
