A lot of NEW things have happened at 1st Baptist Church of Monroe in the past year: most notably their new Worship Activity Center. The WAC, as it is known to the church members, will be celebrating its one year anniversary very soon. During the past year it is estimated that nearly 100 area youth basketball practices have taken place in the WAC. A men’s basketball league called the facility home this summer and several couples have used the facility for weddings. Most recently, the Monroe High School junior high and high school football teams enjoyed their pre-game meals in the WAC. There was also an older adults corn-hole league this past winter.

The church called a new Pastor in August, Rev. Justin Green. Justin currently resides in Dayton. He and his wife Amanda have one child, Meg, who is 2 years old. The church invites everyone to stop on in and meet Justin and his family.

Sunday morning services are: Sunday School--- 9:15, Worship-10:25 with mid week services on THURSDAY evenings at 7 p.m.

The church has youth groups and mission groups for all ages.
