| March 10, 2000- Just 4 days after the voters confirmed the need for a new school district in Monroe, Cathy Hamilton, Monroe School Principal resigns effective at the end of this school year.. No reason was given for the resignation. Superintendent Wayne Driscol said her contract renewal was ‘tenuous‘ in his January evaluation of her. Driscoll cited 2 reasons for his opinion: 1. Letters mailed to parents about school uniforms with incorrect dates. 2. Handling of cheerleader tryout discrepancies. The new Monroe School Board will be responsible for the hiring of her replacement |
