Saturday, August 7, Monroe held its version of National Night Out at the Monroe Community Park.   A few hundred of Monroe's citizens showed up for free hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, pop and even Krispy Kreme donuts.  The Monroe Police and Fire Departments were present showing off their vehicles, some weapons, an obstacle course and the crowd favorites, their dogs.  Several raffle prizes were awarded and a great time was had by all.
