He was Monroe Local School’s first and only Superintendent until January of this year when Elizabeth Lolli took over as superintent.
Now, after over 6 months, Arnol Elam is coming out of retirement (since December 2007) for another local school superintendent-ship, this time at Franklin schools.
That’s because the former Franklin Superintendent Doug Lantz’s resignation was accepted last night at the Franklin Board of Education meeting.
Lantz is leaving to become superintendent of Northmont schools. According to Linda Blum, the president of the Northmont School board he is the 'candidate of choice'. Lantz seeks an advancement in his career by taking on a larger school district with nearly double the 3,000 student Franklin School District.
Elam has accepted a 1 year $98,000 contract for the 2008-2009 school year.
